Markesha

Poem of Petals Alternate Sub Logo Mauve

Markesha leads Poem of Petals with a calm, intentional approach to floral design, guided by seasonality and a thoughtful sense of balance and movement. Her perspective is shaped by time spent in gardens—observing how things grow, how they settle, and when to let them be.

Her work is informed by close attention to setting and how a space is meant to be experienced. She values clear direction and a steady process, allowing clients to step back from the details while their vision is considered with care. Design decisions are made with discernment—focused on cohesion, movement, and what truly matters in the moment.

Prior to establishing Poem of Petals, Markesha spent many years leading large-scale projects in professional settings—experience that now informs the calm structure, clarity, and operational care behind every design. Outside of the studio, she is a wife and mother who values unhurried time—her faith, travel, soul music, and moments that allow space to notice and be present. These rhythms of life inform her work just as much as the garden does.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Markesha serves weddings and events across the region, with work extending to Birmingham, Alabama, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Cincinnati, Ohio. The result is floral work that feels grounded, cohesive, and distinct—well held from planning through installation.
